  1. Core group of 5 members begin the Southern Interior Bluebird Trail Society, 1989
  2. Grant from the Environmental Partners Fund, 1990
  3. Funding from the Shell Environmental Fund Grant in 1991
  4. Incorporated as a Society 1992
  5. Grant from Canada Trust "Friends of the Environment Fund" 1992
  6. Federal Environmental Citizenship Award, 1993
  7. Career Preparation Partner~Natural Resources Career Preparation Program 1995.
  8. NABS Award for outstanding contributor to the field of bluebird conservation presented to Vern Johnson, 1998
  9. Shortlisted for BC Forests Excellence Awards, 2000
  10. Hosted NABS 2002 ~ 25th annual conference 2002
  11. NABS Award for outstanding work in bluebird conservation presented to Sherry Linn, President SIBTS, 2002
  12. Affiliate member North American Bluebird Trail Society
  13. Partnership in the South Okanagan-Similkameen Conservation Program
  14. First BC Trans-Continental Bluebird Trail of the North American Bluebird Society established in Osoyoos, BC
  15. Research: One grant awarded in 2005 for continued research on Cavity nesting Lewis Woodpeckers in the Okanagan Valley.
  16. Banding of Mountain and Western Bluebirds on established trails was very successful in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
  17. Research: One grant was awarded in 06 for a study of the nest parasites in Mountain Bluebirds near Williams Lake.
  18. The Mountain Bluebird Research that was being done in Williams Lake will continue throughout 2007. Erin O'Brien who is conducting this research on parasites in relationship to Mountain Bluebirds has been asked to make a poster presentation about her findings at the NABS 2007 Conference in Georgia.
